LABOVARIO – the universal installation concept

The series Laboklav has been designed to be very compact and space saving. All components are placed inside the housing. Additionally the unit offers various possibilities of installation. The lid can be opened to the right or to the left, the unit can be operated and loaded from the small side, it can be installed as a horizontal or vertical autoclave. All this without additional costs or any alterations. The compact design results in a lower loading height, making it easier to fill the autoclave with baskets and bottles when installed as vertical autoclave.
LABOBLUE – cost saving and environmental friendly

Making the unit as compact as possible does not only save the costs of expensive stainless steel but also dramatically reduces the heating requirements without extending the heating up time. Consequently during the cooling phase less energy has to be transported out of the system. LABOKLAV is equipped with much less heating power than comparable chamber sizes and is optimized for laboratory processes. The chamber sizes are ideal for loading with 1 l laboratory flask and in most cases offer higher loading capacity then comparable chamber sizes of other manufacturers. The reduction in heating power results in much lower energy costs, thus running costs of the unit have been reduced
LABOSECURE – the secure closing system with thermo locking device

All units of the series Laboklav are equipped with a secure and easy to operate closing system. After loading the lid is slightly pressed down by the operator, by pressing the relevant control key the lid is closed by the force of a motor. The lid T profile silicone seal, is keeping the system closed both under pressure and in vacuum. Various safety chains make sure that the lid is not opened under pressure or at high temperature (thermo locking device). When activating a liquid programme the reference temperature is monitored by a flexible PT 100 sensor, this is included into the basic model. The complete system does not require any compressed air nor is it using pneumatic components.
LABOHOT – steam generation according the principle of a „hot stone”

The basic working principle is that of a “hot stone”. The complete element is heated up and water is sprayed onto the hot metal block. By using a hot and compact metal body less energy is required to maintain the source of steam generation. Only the amount of energy is needed to have the quantity of steam ready required for the successful cycle, no additional water is heated up and later, during the cooling phase, cooled down. The steam generator is not permanently filled with water. An additional advantage is the use of dry heating elements. Since they are in no direct contact with water the expected life time cycle is estimated as double the life span as common heating elements
LABOSAFE - protection system for drain pipes

The protection of the laboratory drain pipes from hot steam is included into the basic version of Laboklav. The discharge system of Laboklav connects steam, condensate and water outlet into one discharge pipe. Tap water is mixed with the condensate leaving the autoclave. By using a PT 100 temperature sensor and the possibility to adjust the condensate and steam drain temperature in the autoclave parameter settings the unit can be adjusted to the type of pipes and the temperature stability of the pipes used in the laboratory.

The unit can be equipped with a high efficient recooling system to dramatically reduce cooling down times when sterilizing liquids. The double jacket is floated with cold demineralised water, by circulating the water around the chamber the energy is transported out of the system. As a result the cooling down time can be reduced up to 50%*. The main advantage is the full double jacket. Different from a cooling coil around the chamber the double jacket ensures the contact of cooling liquid onto the full surface of the chamber and a fast transport of heat energy.
The cooling system is being fed from the storage tank of demineralised water. After circulation around the double jacket the water is being pumped back into the tank. Integrated into the tank is a heat exchanger, mainly using the water required for the exhaust steam condenser, to cool down the water inside the tank. Additionally more cold tap water can be used for heat exchange purposes, the values can be set in the relevant programmes..
Up to now autoclaves with integrated water cooling usually consume approx. 50 l of demineralised water for cooling purposes. This water is pumped into the drain and wasted. The LABOBLUE system offers real cost savings and saves our limited natural resources

The integrated fan inside the chambers avoids temperature gradients inside the chamber and ensures forced convection within the system. As a result cooling down time is reduced by up to 80%.*

When sterilizing hollow items and mixed waste fractions a complete deaeration of the chamber is usually difficult to achieve. But the principles of steam sterilisation require saturated steam conditions, meaning the part of not condensable gases (e.g. air) should not be more than 2%. A vacuum system is required.
Integrated into the compact housing of the unit is a high performance water-ring vacuum pump. The capacity of the pump is suitable to evacuate the chamber and the sterilisations goods fast and reliable. Depending on the sterilisation goods programmes with single pre-vacuum or fractionated pre-vacuum can be selected. The number of fractions, same as the vacuum values can be set in the relevant programmes.
A drying vacuum is useful when sterilizing pipette tips, glassware, filter and textiles since no drying in a drying oven is required after sterilisation. For drying purposes it is required to additionally heat the chamber during this process. During the drying vacuum the chamber is heated with steam pulsing through the double jacket. This function is always included into the vacuum option.
LABOPROTECT – the protective air exhaust system
LABOKLAV l be equipped with an exhaust air filter. It is suitable to be used in laboratories sterilising pathogen material. The exhaust air filtration system corresponds with the valid regulations. Condensate is being held back in front of the filter, dropping back into the sterilisation chamber and is heated out during the cycle. Integrated into the hydrophobic 0, 2 µm filter element is a PT 100 temperature sensor to control that the filter element is completely sterilized during the cycle. Integrated into the housing of the steriliser the filter element is easy to reach and can be replaced within minutes by the user. A stainless steel housing protects the filter element. A filter counter is integrated into the control. The control will remind the user to replace the filter in time.

A clear, easy to read and understand foil key pad eliminates operation errors and increases safety. Clear symbols guide through the menu, programmes can be opened fast. The structured big LCD display informs permanently during a programme cycle of all relevant process and programme parameters. In the unlikely event of an error a message is displayed.
Depending on the integrated options the 20 programmes are optimized for the machine configuration.

The autoclaves can be equipped with different cycle recording systems. Data can be printed out with the integrated build-in printer (optional) or can be transferred onto a PC via the integrated interface (optional software required). Already the basic version of LABOKLAV has an integrated storage chip with 4 MB storage capacity. The cycle data is automatically stored and can be printed out or transferred to a PC at a later stage. A Minimum of 100 cycles are stored, more is possible but depends on the data volume per cycle.
